The Candle Quencher does this by snuffing out the flame so that you get no smoke, allowing that fresh, beautiful fragrance to linger on! Each time you extinguish the flame, the quencher pinches off the burnt wick automatically trimming it a 1/4 inch and holding it for you to throw out. It can also center and straighten the wick. A properly trimmed wick will pull up the melted wax and scent. Too long wicks are not effective at pulling up the wax and scent. You just burn down the wick and waste valuable burn time. In addition when the wicks gets to long you are just burning pure cotton and that will produce a little bit of soot.

We strongly encourage you to trim the wicks every time you burn our soy candles. If you are going to burn our soy candles for a long time, simply snuff, trim and relight.
