The 7 Step Pouring Process

The exclusive 7 Step Pouring Process is a completely unique way of hand pouring soy candles at extremely low temperatures. It enables our candle wax to absorb 30% more fragrance than the strongest scented candles on the market! This is very difficult to do and impossible for automated machinery to accomplish.

It is important that you understand most candles are made using automated machinery, requiring the temperature to be much hotter. Automated machinery is much quicker, but results in a lower amount of fragrance being absorbed and therefore less scent throw. Pouring at such high temperatures causes much of fragrance to evaporate out of the candles. More importantly, a large percentage of fragrance rises to the top of the candles leaving little scent at the bottom.

The lower pouring temperature as part of the 7 Step Pouring Process, evenly distributes our strong "Intelliscent Fragrances" that makes our scented soy candles so great!

Typical candles, even other hand poured candles, frequently smell great in the store, but when you light them the fragrance is weak and completely gone by the time the candle is half burned.

This happens because the fragrance is not absorbed evenly throughout the wax. Every wax has specific amount of scent the wax can hold, called "scent load capacity." If you add more than it can hold it, the scent will seep out. In a jar candle, it will ‘float to the top” and then evaporate into the air. This makes the candle may smell great in the jar but the scent has not properly absorbed into the wax and therefore can not be transferred into the air when burned. In order for candles like ours to have great scent throw when burned, the fragrance must be evenly distributed throughout our candles.

Most candle manufacturers use only the standard scent load capacity creating average scented candles. Some of the time candle makers will pour scent over the top after the candles have completely solidified. This way when you smell them they smell great but when you light it, the scent slowly lingers out.

Our exclusive "Intelliscent Fragrances" produce beautiful strong, realistic scents because they were designed for soy candles, not paraffin ones. Commercially made fragrances are made in a carrier of petroleum oil which is toxic and not as strong. The petroleum oil takes away form the purity and potency of the scent.

"Intelliscent Fragrances" were developed in a soy bean oil carrier specifically for our Unique Soy Wax Formulation. They are healthy when burned and the best part, off course, is the scents. Two Wick Technology

Black Creek CandleWorks soy scented candles effectively utilize all the wax, creating a long, even burn, out-performing all other candles! No more tunnels, wasted wax or uneven burning. Believe it or not, many of the nationally known candle makers are using the wrong size wick! It took a great deal of research and experimentation to find the right wick system to burn perfectly.

The purpose of the wick is to pull the wax evenly up its length to be burned. The proper thickness of the wick enables it to pull up the wax and scent into the air creating a greater scent throw. The wick also has to be strong enough to create a large enough melt pool of melted wax that extends out to the edge of the jar and at the same time, burn slowly enough to maintain a longer burn time. That’s why we use two wicks of the perfect size and type to create the perfect melt pool for our containers and wax.

The wicks also have to be rigid enough to hold themselves in place, staying above the wax. That’s why many wicks contain lead or zinc cores. The EPA is in the process of banning lead wicks due to the toxins emitted. Our wicks are 100% cotton and do not have a metal core.
